WENSHUO ceramic plates run from about 15 cm to 27 cm across, and our bowls hold from 250 ml to 1,350 ml. Many pieces come in two or three sizes, so the useful question is not which plate is best, but which size does which job. This guide matches each size to a meal.

Plates: dinner, side or deep
- Dinner plates (21–27 cm) hold a full meal. Around 22–23 cm suits everyday portions and smaller tables; 26–27 cm leaves room for a main and its sides on one plate.
- Side plates (15–20 cm) are for bread, dessert and fruit, and work as the main plate for a light breakfast.
- Deep plates sit between a plate and a bowl. The raised edge holds pasta sauce, dressing or a little broth, so we list them by capacity as well as width.
- Height matters for storage. Our dinner plates range from 1.9 cm tall (Lumo) to 4.1 cm (Linear). Flatter plates take less room in a stack.

Bowls: choose by capacity
- Rice bowls, 250–400 ml. 250–300 ml is a single portion of rice. At 375–400 ml the same bowl also works for porridge or a small soup.
- Soup bowls, around 500 ml. Enough for a bowl of soup on its own.
- Noodle bowls, 850 ml and up. Ramen with toppings needs room for broth and noodles; the Glaye Arc Ramen Bowl is our largest at 1,350 ml.
- Serving bowls, 650–1,200 ml. For salad, noodles or a stew placed in the middle of the table.

A starting set for one or two
For each person: one dinner plate, one side plate, one deep plate, one rice bowl and one soup or noodle bowl. Add one serving bowl for the table. Our pieces are sold individually, so you can begin with the sizes you use most and add others later.
Serving pieces
For fruit and sweets, a raised plate keeps food in view: the Taki Pedestal Plate is 15 cm across and 8.5 cm tall. For a larger spread, the Blooming Petal Salad Plate measures 34 × 27.4 cm, platter size despite its name.

Glazes and finishes
- Mist Black and Nacre White run across the Daisy, Petals, Twilight, Lumo, Goblet Tall Bowl, Striped Ramen Bowl and Mochi pieces, so black and white can be mixed in one setting.
- Cream glazes include the Crème Color pieces, such as the Swan, Lotus, Runden and Linear designs, and the Sandflow series, which carries soft sand-colored variation.
- Pearl White and Ebony Black are the two colors of the Glaye pieces.
- Kiln-varied glaze in Caramel Brown and Oatmeal is used on the Peach Blossom, Plum Blossom, Pumpkin, Wide Round, Flared, Footed Shallow, Dodecagonal and Begonia pieces. The glaze reacts in the kiln, so color and markings vary from piece to piece.
Care
Our ceramic plates and bowls are dishwasher safe. When loading, keep pieces from knocking against each other to protect rims and glaze, and stack plates of the same size together in the cupboard.
