A tray, a small dish or a lidded jar gives everyday things a fixed place: keys by the door, soap by the basin, tea and sugar on the counter. This guide sets out WENSHUO wooden trays, ceramic catch-all dishes, storage jars and tissue pouches by size and material, with ideas for where each one works and how to care for it.

Wooden trays

The Wooden Square Tray is a flat piece of pale wood with a low 2 cm rim, in three sizes. The small tray (28 × 19 cm) takes a cup and a small plate; the medium (34 × 24.5 cm) takes a teapot and two cups; the large (40 × 30 cm) is big enough for breakfast for one. The Wooden Square Teak Tray comes in the same three sizes in teak with a black frame. Both can hold bread, cake and other food directly.

The KOVA Lacquered Rectangular Tray is a thin, dark lacquered board (33 × 23 cm) that sets off pale ceramics. The Wooden Dual-Tone Stripe Tray stands 4 cm high on darker wooden strips, so a teapot and cups sit raised above the table.

The Wooden Basket

The Wooden Basket is a shallow square wooden box, 21 cm across and 6 cm deep, with a tall bent-wood handle. Use it to carry a towel and toiletries to the bathroom, or tea snacks to the table.

Ceramic dishes for small things

  • Three-Legs Soap Dish. A 19.5 cm cream oval on three short feet, so a bar of soap sits clear of the counter.
  • Three-Legs Ceramic Plate. The larger version, 25.5 × 16.5 cm, for fruit on a table or small things by the door.
  • Stood Ceramic Tall Tray. A shallow 18.5 cm plate on a pedestal, for fruit, cake or bakes.
  • Doggy Key Stand. A cream resin dog sitting on a black oval tray. Keys hang from its magnetic nose, and the tray holds the rest of what comes out of your pockets.

For incense and tealights, the Daisy Candle Plate appears in our home fragrance guide.

Storage jars

Both jars are cream glazed ceramic with a lid that rests on top. They are not airtight, so they suit dry goods such as tea, sugar or snacks you get through quickly, or small things like cotton pads and hair ties.

  • Kura Storage Jar. A tall, slightly tapered jar, 12.5 cm high, with an 8.5 cm opening and a wooden lid with an arched handle.
  • Kumo Storage Jar. A rounder jar, 12 cm high and 11.9 cm across, with a terracotta-toned lid and a small sculpted knob.

Tissue pouches

A fabric pouch hides a plastic tissue pack. The Stripe Striped Tissue Storage Pouch is cotton, 16 × 14 × 10 cm, drawn closed with ties, in Navy Blue, Vintage Red or Deep Brown. The Asato Tissue Storage Pouch is a longer, flatter 26.5 × 17.5 cm, patterned with overlapping circles, in Beige or Light Brown.

Where each piece works

  • By the door. The Doggy Key Stand, or a Three-Legs Ceramic Plate for keys, cards and earbuds.
  • In the bathroom. The Three-Legs Soap Dish by the basin, and a small Wooden Square Tray or the Wooden Basket for bottles and a hand towel.
  • On the kitchen counter. The Kura or Kumo jar for tea or sugar, with a medium wooden tray to group them.
  • On the table. The KOVA or Dual-Tone tray under a tea set; the Stood Tall Tray for fruit or cake.
  • By the bed or desk. A tissue pouch, and a small tray for a glass of water and your glasses.

Care

  • Wooden and lacquered trays, and the Wooden Basket. Wipe with a damp cloth and dry straight away. Do not soak them or put them in the dishwasher.
  • Ceramic dishes and jars. The ceramic pieces are dishwasher-safe; wipe the Kura jar's wooden lid by hand. Rinse soap residue off the soap dish now and then.
  • Doggy Key Stand. Wipe clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
